Referee's in the sport of basketball have arguably the most impact on the game than any other sport. So where is the line of calling too many fouls and keeping the game from getting out of hand? For all of the hate referee's get, when there is a good performance by a ref it creates a great game to watch.
For example, in game 2 of the Sixers - Hawks series Danny Green was on a fast break for an easy two points but was held back by a Hawks player. So why wasn't it called, maybe the referee missed it, either way two points can accumulate very fast when you are missing calls. Basketball can come down to the last shot in close games so that bad or missed call can affect the game in a big way.
Other instances of this for big name players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden, etc. These players usually get calls there way because most refs don't want to go against these star players. Clearly that is not the way the game should be officiated.
If the calls are not balanced it will greatly benefit the team who are getting the calls in their favor. When the pressure is on in the last moments of a big series the game should not be held in the refs hands. How much of an impact do you think referees have on a game?
