Well what do you say to the American civil war, which was about the freedom of blacks? I know war is a terrible thing, but I personally can't make blanket statements like "all civil war is bad". I think if people end up having a war, it probably means that all other avenues have been exhausted. You might well be right about your specific example, I'm just reacting to the generalized statement.
