Some say violence is never the option either. But there is such a thing as defending yourself from an attacker by using violence. Similarly there is such a thing called defensive war, such as what the Allies were doing in WWII. But if you expand it, invading an autocratic country to prevent it, say, from getting nuclear weapons, could be justified as defensive war. But I get what you're saying: certainly in some cases war should not be an option.
