Mi mamá siempre me decía que es bueno tener una mochila de emergencias, aunque estaba de acuerdo con ella nunca lo aplique a mi vida, pero después del terremoto llevo un mes y una semana con una mochila que arme con las pocas cosas que tengo, de hecho he tenido de vaciar algunas de ellas porque durante este tiempo hemos necesitado alguna de esas cosas pero siempre intento reponer lo que puedo, a pesar de que ha temblado suave después de esos dos mega terremotos mi mente no deja de estar alerta y tener este morral listo me hace sentir un poco mas segura.
My mom always told me it was good to have an emergency kit, and although I agreed with her, I never applied it to my life. But after the earthquake, I've been carrying a kit for a month and a week that I put together with the few things I have. In fact, I've had to empty some of them because during this time we've needed some of those things, but I always try to replace what I can. Lo tengo en un lugar donde pueda agarrarlo fácilmente y al lado de ese morral tengo una cartera enorme donde pretendo meter a mi gato cuando pase cualquier cosa, en mi mente he creado mil escenarios y me he imaginado como podría encargarme de todo al mismo tiempo si llega a pasar algo malo, es bastante agobiante toda esta situación pero siempre es bueno tener un kit de emergencias aunque sea super básico como el mio, ya que no tengo todas las cosas que me gustaría porque muchos medicamentos y cosas que debería comprar para este kit son bastante costosas acá.
I keep it somewhere I can easily grab it, and next to that backpack I have a huge purse where I plan to put my cat if anything happens. In my mind, I've created a thousand scenarios and imagined how I could handle everything at once if something bad were to happen. This whole situation is quite overwhelming, but it's always good to have an emergency kit, even a super basic one like mine, since I don't have all the things I'd like because many medications and things I should buy for this kit are quite expensive here.
Aparte de ropa y un poco de alimento para gatos llevo tambien mi cartera con nuestros documentos y tarjetas, un bombillo recargable y unos audífonos que me sirven para poder escuchar la radio desde cualquier celular y estar informados en caso de que se vaya la luz y la señal como suele pasar muchísimo aquí.
Besides clothes and some cat food, I also carry my wallet with our documents and cards, a rechargeable light bulb, and headphones that allow me to listen to the radio from any cell phone and stay informed in case the power and signal go out, as often happens here.
Medicamentos, llevo ibuprofeno tanto de adulto como pediátrico de igual manera el acetaminofén y amoxicilina, he tenido bastantes malestares durante este mes y he tomado algunas ibuprofeno, pronto tengo que reponerlas.

Tambien metí alcohol, algodón, vendaje y tambien quise poner un mentol en barra que sirve para los músculos, no se si eso sirva de algo jajaja, pero quise meterlo igual.

Y por ultimo cosas de aseo personal, desodorante, pasta dental, jabón, toallitas húmedas, me gustaría armar un kit mas completo y quizás con mas cosas que me hagan sentir segura ante alguna emergencia, tambien había empacado unas galletas pero ya se las comió mi hijo asi que tambien tengo que reponer eso y colocar un envase de agua, aunque parezca exagerado he pensado en este kit incluso en las peores de las situaciones (suponiendo que sobrevivíamos) tengo muchísimo miedo de solo pensarlo.
And lastly, personal hygiene items: deodorant, toothpaste, soap, wet wipes. I'd like to put together a more complete kit, perhaps with more things that would make me feel safe in case of an emergency. I had also packed some cookies, but my son already ate them, so I have to replace those too, and add a container of water. Although it may seem exaggerated, I've thought about this kit even for the worst-case scenarios (assuming we survived). I'm terrified just thinking about it.
Pero esto es una lección de vida y señales de que debemos estar siempre preparados y hacerle caso a nuestras madres, desde hace muchísimo tiempo mi mama me dijo que debíamos tener un morral de emergencias y nunca le hice caso, ahora lo veo como algo indispensable en mi hogar.
But this is a life lesson and a sign that we should always be prepared and listen to our mothers. A long time ago my mom told me that we should have an emergency kit and I never listened to her, now I see it as something indispensable in my home.
