Hola chicos, feliz fin de semana. Hace mucho tiempo que quería realizar un retrato con algún velo cubriendo la cabeza, me parece algo bastante lindo y nostálgico, pero les confieso que no me gusta mucho el tema de pintar ropa/tela por eso no lo había hecho antes, pero hoy si me anime a hacerlo pues quiero practicar un poco mas y asi quizás, quitar un poco el miedo a pintar tela. La tela realmente es una textura bastante complicada ya que si pintamos muy brusco podría dar la impresión de una tela demasiado gruesa o pesada, tiene detalles que hay que saber trabajarlos muy bien y, aunque llevo ya casi 4 años dibujando sigo sin acostumbrarme a este tipo de retos, dibujarla en boceto es fácil, pero al momento de pintar es cuando comienza el dolor de cabeza. En fin, quería algo nostálgico como me gusta a mí, estos últimos días mi animo ha mejorado un poco, aunque sigo muy agobiada por todas las cosas que tengo que hacer, eso me ayuda a motivarme a dibujar, pues me anima un poco más y además dreno las emociones, enfocándome y concentrándome en terminar el dibujo y que quede lo mas parecido a lo que me imagino, realmente es como una terapia.

For a long time I wanted to make a portrait with a veil covering the head, it seems to me something quite nice and nostalgic, but I confess that I do not really like the theme of painting clothes / fabric so I had not done it before, but today I dare to do it because I want to practice a little more and so perhaps, remove a little fear of painting fabric.
The fabric really is a quite complicated texture because if we paint too rough it could give the impression of a too thick or heavy fabric, it has details that you have to know how to work them very well and, although I've been drawing for almost 4 years I'm still not used to this kind of challenges, drawing it in sketch is easy, but when painting is when the headache begins.
Anyway, I wanted something nostalgic as I like, these last days my mood has improved a little, although I'm still very overwhelmed by all the things I have to do, that helps me to motivate me to draw, because it encourages me a little more and also I drain the emotions, focusing and concentrating on finishing the drawing and that it is as close to what I imagine, it really is like a therapy.

Realice el boceto sobre un lienzo en gris, pero después de terminar el boceto, comencé a pintar con tonos cálidos el fondo, usando marrones oscuros y un marrón un poco mas claro para añadir ciertas zonas de luz, el boceto fue sencillo hasta cierto punto, el velo me pareció muy fácil de dibujar, pero solo pensaba en el momento que tendría que pintarlo jaja. Para la piel elegí tonos de piel muy claros ya que esta vez quería un rostro pálido, comencé a depositar los colores usando de sombras algunos color marrón con tonalidades frías, luego añadí una nueva capa y comencé a poner mas colores para formar mejor los rasgos, después empecé a mezclar todos los colores dejando una piel mas suave y unos grandes ojos azules, para el cabello coloque un color base de un tono marrón claro y algo saturado.

I made the sketch on a gray canvas, but after finishing the sketch, I began to paint with warm tones the background, using dark browns and a little lighter brown to add certain areas of light, the sketch was simple to some extent, the veil seemed very easy to draw, but I was only thinking about the moment I would have to paint it haha.
For the skin I chose very light skin tones since this time I wanted a pale face, I started to deposit the colors using some brown shadows with cold tones, then I added a new layer and started to put more colors to better form the features, then I started to mix all the colors leaving a softer skin and big blue eyes, for the hair I put a base color of a saturated light brown tone.

Le di mas forma al peinado usando marrones oscuros y claros, dibujando en forma de ondas para que el cabello pareciese ondulado, luego comencé a pintar el velo para este quería un color oscuro, probe con un color negro pero no me gusto, además seria mas dificil para mi crear los pliegues con ese color, asi que decidí cambiarlo a un azul desaturado muy oscuro, luego tome el color negro con una opacidad del 50% y comencé a realizar los pliegues de la tela, seguido de esto tome un color de esta misma gama pero mas claro y agregue luces a los pliegues para darle mas realismo a la tela, sinceramente no se si se vea real o concuerde con la pose de mi retrato pero no saben lo feliz que estoy por como se ve, a mis ojos quedo bien y me encantó. Después pense que si quería darle un toque mas nostálgico a todo el dibujo debía oscurecer un poco y así lo hice, creando una capa encima con un ajuste de capa de “multiplicar” y un color marrón oscuro, baje la opacidad de esta capa para que no luciese exageradamente oscuro y quedo bien a mi gusto. Finalice mi dibujo agregando un desenfoque en las esquinas y tambien realizando una edición donde aumente un poco mas la saturación y contraste.

I gave more shape to the hairstyle using dark and light browns, drawing in waves to make the hair look wavy, then I started to paint the veil for this one I wanted a dark color, I tried with a black color but I didn't like it, besides it would be more difficult for me to create the folds with that color, so I decided to change it to a very dark desaturated blue, then I took the black color with an opacity of 50% and began to make the folds of the fabric, followed by this I took a color of this same range but lighter and added lights to the folds to give more realism to the fabric, honestly I do not know if it looks real or match the pose of my portrait but you do not know how happy I am for how it looks, in my eyes it looked good and I loved it.
Then I thought that if I wanted to give a more nostalgic touch to the whole drawing I should darken it a little and so I did, creating a layer on top with a "multiply" layer adjustment and a dark brown color, I lowered the opacity of this layer so it didn't look too dark and it looked good to my taste. I finished my drawing adding a blur in the corners and also making an edition where I increased a little more the saturation and contrast.
