Exit 8: Success or Failure?

Hace unos días vimos una película llamada “EXIT 8” se veía bastante prometedora, aunque recién después de verla me entere que esta basada en un videojuego, realmente no lo sabia aunque si me pareció muy familiar la dinámica de la película ya que es una dinámica muy presente en varios juegos de terror de hoy en día sobre “anomalías” sinceramente a mi no me gusto esta película, al principio capto toda mi atención pero a medida que iba avanzando el interés se desvaneció por completo.

A few days ago we watched a movie called “EXIT 8.” It looked pretty promising, although it wasn’t until after I watched it that I found out it’s based on a video game. I really didn’t know that, although the film’s premise did seem very familiar to me, since it’s a common theme in many modern horror games about “anomalies.” Honestly, I didn’t like this movie; at first it grabbed my full attention, but as it went on, my interest faded completely.

La película se ambienta en una estación de metro, donde conocemos a nuestro protagonista que esta dentro del tren viendo algunas personas discutir en el vagón por causa de un bebe, luego se baja y recibe una llamada de una chica que al parecer es su ex novia la cual le da la noticia de que será padre. A partir de ese momento el chico pierde la señal del teléfono y comienza a caminar en el metro parando en el mismo lugar una y otra vez, un bucle infinito. Para poder salir y terminar con este bucle debe detectar las anomalías que consiga hasta llegar a la salida nro 8

The movie is set in a subway station, where we meet our protagonist, who is on the train watching some people argue in the car over a baby. He then gets off and receives a call from a girl who appears to be his ex-girlfriend, who tells him he’s going to be a father. From that moment on, the young man loses cell service and begins walking through the subway, stopping at the same spot over and over again—an endless loop. To get out and break this loop, he must identify any anomalies he encounters until he reaches Exit No. 8.

Toman el tema del bebe como si fuese el tema principal, el miedo mas profundo del protagonista convertido en anomalías que se materializa en cada pasillo, hasta cierto punto esta bien, pero llega un punto donde es exagerado, además nos ponen un personaje de un niño mas adelante el cual nos dan a entender que es su hijo (WTF?) La película comenzó bastante bien, me dio curiosidad y me pareció entretenida pero mientras más avanzaba se volvía mas absurda la trama y tambien la manera en que los personajes actúan.

They treat the baby as if it were the central theme—the protagonist’s deepest fear transformed into anomalies that materialize in every hallway. To a certain extent, this works, but it eventually gets over the top. On top of that, they introduce a child character later on who we’re led to believe is his son (WTF?). The movie started off pretty well; it piqued my curiosity and I found it entertaining, but the further it went, the more absurd the plot became, as did the way the characters acted.

Creo que cualquiera que estuviese en esa película sale de ese lugar en menos de 10 minutos siguiendo las instrucciones, es super facil solo debes regresarte si ves alguna anomalía y eran SUPER obvias, pero los personajes decidían que era mejor esperar hasta el minuto 0 para escapar, el instinto de supervivencia mas inútil que puedes ver en tu vida.

I think anyone who was in that movie could get out of there in less than 10 minutes by following the instructions—it’s super easy; you just have to turn back if you see anything unusual, and those signs were SUPER obvious—but the characters decided it was better to wait until the very last minute to escape. That’s the most useless survival instinct you’ll ever see.

Siento que esta película tenia potencial pero se fue a la basura, no supieron desarrollarla mejor, aunque muchas personas opinan que fue una obra maestra a mi realmente no me gusto, me estaba durmiendo en los últimos minutos de película y al final todo termina en un bucle de nuevo.

I feel like this movie had potential but it went to waste; they didn't know how to develop it better. Although many people think it was a masterpiece, I really didn't like it. I was falling asleep during the last few minutes of the movie, and in the end, everything just loops back to the beginning.
