Today I want to show a picture of a fishing spider that I found on a plant.Dolomedes is a genus of large spiders from the family Pisauridae. They are also known as fishing spiders, raft spiders, dock spiders or pier spiders. Almost all species of Dolomedes are semiaquatic, except for D. albineus as tree dwellers.
You can see that in the photo I feature here, this spider lives in its nest of traps between the scrolls of plant leaves.
If you enlarge this spider image it shows how the web is made to trap other insects into it. And after that of course the spider will eat its prey.
