Folks started coming in groups, but eventually most of us made it to the Airbnbs.

After the introductions and some delicious double espresso, we got geared up.

Do I look like I'm ready for business? I probably won't wear the shorts and flip flops.

We also got some Hive Debit cards thanks to ecoinstant@ecoinstant, ecoinstante@ecoinstante who brought them from Colombia and jthomasewsky@jthomasewsky who sent them. We're doing some tests today so that we've all practiced the process for tomorrow.

We're preloading these with a few $HBD and will have folks pay by tapping an NFC terminal, just like you would tap a POS system at the grocery store.

For our lunch break, we got some Mexican cuisine: Torta Ahogada Pork sandwiches dipped in salsa and beer. We also added a couple more Hiveans to the pack: bobaphet@bobaphet who runs a weekly show on threespeak@threespeak called Splinterlands 101 who came packed with recording gear, was interviewing everybody and passing around his decked out phone so we could share some words with the camera.

Right after that, we called some local businesses we found on BTC Map and we found this joint, Berlins Bretzel Wagen, a place with traditional German food and beer.

After we sat there having a great conversation with each other and our waitress, she told us they are a bitcoin business and also who the owner was, a gentleman who was in the corner minding his business. She told him we were into crypto and we'd like to have a word with him.

In this kind of situation, the first thing, in my opinion, is showing them we come in peace. The man is a bitcoiner, so we sent him some Lightning payments and gave him some Bitcoin stickers.

During that conversation, we talked about USDT on Lightning. We all came to the conclusion that this is a problem. It's a cryptocurrency managed by a company that poses a security risk. We asked him if he'd be interested in a decentralized, non-KYC, non custodial stable coin. He said yes, so that opened the door to talk about HIVE's $HBD, which then led us to talking about a cashback feature on HIVE called distriator@distriator.

$1

Which also opened the door for talking about how businesses can be listed on Distriator. While manuphotos@manuphotos explained how customers who pay with HBD can claim a discount, starkerz@starkerz created the business on Distriator and imported their Google Maps geo location, making them searchable on the Distriator map.

Joachim was very attentive and even offered his place as a meetup on Thursday when the conference ends. We're going to make some flyers and have people paying with $HBD and NFC cards.
