Hello to the whole community!
Forgive me if I make a few mistakes, but this is one of my very first posts on Hive, and I honestly wasn't sure where to share it. After some careful research, I found this community, where I noticed that many people share their hobbies.
And let's say that this is my hobby—decorating. If you've already read my first post, where I introduced myself, you'll know that I went to art school, because I've always had a passion for drawing since I was a child, and later on, a bit of a passion for painting as well.
So, the other day I came up with a great idea: to create my own bed. My old bed had to go because it was being ruined by some woodworms, but I didn't want to buy a new piece of furniture or spend money on something new that might not last long. I intended to recycle some old pallets that my dad sometimes throws away, which he often gets with the pellet bags for his stove at home.
To do this, I needed my dad's help. He used a power saw to cut the wood and create the bed frame. I could have used the saw too, but I wanted to avoid getting hurt.
After we figured out the size of the mattress, my dad assembled all the wooden parts to create the base for the mattress. Of course, we applied a protective coating to preserve this part of the wood.
I focused on decorating the top part of the assembled pallets. Even though it took me quite a few hours to decorate and let everything dry, I really enjoyed the process. I have to admit, it's been a long time since I've done something like this, and my dad's help was crucial—otherwise, I don't think I could have done it.
In the last photo, you can see the finished bed. I hope you like it as much as I do. Of course, I've already tried it out, and I must say, it's very comfortable. It even makes less noise than the previous bed.
I hope you found this post interesting. I'll see you next time, and I'd love to hear if any of you have made something DIY for your home. Goodbye, everyone!
