I'm a happy but tired bunny, but as much as my travel-intensive schedule inspires me, I could use a break, if I can catch one.
The photo above is from last night, before and I headed over to the Bardi Symphony Orchestra performance to hear the Mozart Clarinet Concerto played by my friend and musician colleague, 14 year old Easher Austin, playing the most famous clarinet concerto of all time on the Basset Clarinet for which it was originally written in 1791.
After a gracious send off for the local station and back at my Morely hotel, I barely got my own and the CWH posts done by the stroke of midnight UTC. Whew! 😅
Once I “double-pubbed” you’d think I’d just go to bed. Nope!
Somehow, when the things I need to do each day get done, its only then that I get the energy I’ve waited on all day. As a result, I couldn’t fathom going to bed till almost 4am. So I set my sleep timer for 6 hours. This way, I’d get sleep and the hotel brekkie!🍳 🥓 🥞
But sometime in the 5am hour, the fire alarm went off. Out of a dead sleep I had to figure out where I was and what I needed to do to evacuate my room. 😨
Before I left my room, the alarm stopped. I went back to bed, but my heart rate was racing and pounding. I pulled the covers over my head and found myself shaking. Ah, right. Anxiety.
They call these things alarms for a reason, don’t they? They’re freaking alarning!! I begin to calm myself, but the alarm went off again. Then stopped. So back to bed.
When morning came, I enjoyed a proper English, and got my cappuccino to go for enjoying in my Uber to the Derby station & my train to Leeds.
Happy to have arrived, I wanted to want home in the rain.
However, getting home to the flat found the very British style of infestation of the Woolen Moth to have worsened. I just hope that this is simply a “becoming British” right of passage.
I aim to get it under control this week, as weird & yucky as it is to me. Where I grew up in Texas, we just don't have this kinda thing! 🤢
For now, I gotta get to bed. I'm rather moth-battle weary.
But I plan to bring you at least a couple of good Hive posts this week.
Much love! 🥰
