Budapest is one my favorite and most beautiful cities in the world. As I'm preparing to visit it again in a few weeks, I'm going over the photos from my previous trip there and realizing there's a lot I haven't shared with you.
Budapest is known for it's amazing architecture, many old castles which are a travel photographer's dream and also many beautiful bridges over the Danube river.
On this particular day, we start off on a hill above the city where the Buddha Castle is located as well as the picturesque Fisherman's Bastion built at the turn of the century before World War I. The castle itself was first build in the 13th century and has gone through constant renovations due to many sieges. Yet it still gives off that neo-classical vibe.
Its position high above the city makes it prominent from whatever spot you look at, and also provides a stunning panoramic view over the city, the parliament building and the many bridges. No wonder it's one of the most popular tourist destination in Budapest.
After enjoying the view from up top, we go down to the river and walk across the Elisabeth bridge. It is modern looking, built in the 60s of the past century and, unlike other bridges on the Danube, did not have to be rebuilt after the war.
Dark clouds like I've never seen before make the day turn almost pitch-black quickly. As I walk towards the Chain Bridge, a one of kind architectural marvel, I look for spots where I can place my camera for long exposures (as I had no tripod with me). In the last few shots you can see the light trails and the view of the bridge. A day that will forever be etched in my memory.
