Thank you so much for the selection, @castleberry! Wonderful shots all around. I'll take some time to look at the authors in more detail.

Yes, the more time you spend with the characters in this case makes you appreciate them and cheer for them. It's not an easy read but worth it.

RE: For Whom the Bell Tolls | Hemingway's Epic, Slow-Burning Masterpiece
Hemingway has a weird spot among classical writers, people either love or hate him. I personally enjoy his style of writing and have read I think five of his books. For whom the bell tolls still remains

RE: For Whom the Bell Tolls | Hemingway's Epic, Slow-Burning Masterpiece
It is a Metallica song and there's also a Hollywood movie from 1943, just 3 years after the book was published. But I prefer the book by far among all of those. :) If you don't mind Hemingway's style of

Thank you! You either love or hate this book, it has some parts that it could do without, but it didn't bother me. For me it's one of the best books about war ever written, and when you add love story

Yes, this is a very atmospheric book full of tension. It's a classic for a reason even though some might not like it.

RE: In A Book Slump. Send Help!
I sometimes get myself in one of those, one long one took over a year. But nowadays it's usually the short ones that last for a few days - it's like I'm watching the shelves over and over and nothing jumps

Thank you very much and sorry for the late response. :) It almost feels like the author completely adopted his new country of residence and seems more British than regular Brits haha. I couldn't believe.

Hey, man, sorry for replaying late, just got back from the vacation. :) I'm looking for Tarjei in my local bookstores and it's sold out, there's one copy of "The Ice Palace" in the used bookstore.

RE: Remains of the Day - Review | Ishiguro's Fascinating Art of Storytelling
I have avoided Dickens so far as well but it's on my TBR. Don't be afraid of the Remains of the Day, it's not that the language itself is old, but the style of writing is eloquent in a way you don't see

RE: Highlights from a Lively Belgrade | Street Photography
It has the spirit and people are warm and welcoming, it's not as beautiful as some modern, more developed European cities though. But it's worth visiting. :)
