Tengo 7 a帽os trabajando con Windows 10, aplicaciones como AutoCAD y Revit me lo demandan, aunque tambi茅n soy entusiasta del software libre y el c贸digo abierto GNU/Linux, parece il贸gico pero es la realidad, la compatibilidad de aplicaciones hace imposible para muchos usuarios el poder adoptar el escritorio del 帽u y del ping眉ino. Durante mi tiempo de ocio, creaci贸n de contenido, aprendizaje y desarrollo, uso distribuciones Linux, el dual boot es parte de mi setup.
Pero ya dej茅monos de nostalgias y al grano a lo que vinimos. Este fin de semana he recibido un regalo de parte de la empresa con la que trabajo, me han enviado el c贸digo de una licencia de Windows 11 para que lo probara en mi m谩quina, la experiencia de usuario es importante cuando algunas aplicaciones exprimen los recursos.
A pesar de no tener una m谩quina moderna, considero que los recursos son modestos, 12Gb de Ram, procesador i7 de 6ta generaci贸n y una tarjeta gr谩fica Radeon R7 de 2Gb, no es para lanzar cohetes, pero para el trabajo diario me ha funcionado. Ahora bien 驴Qu茅 pasa con Win11 y la supuesta devoraci贸n de recursos?. Aqu铆 van las pruebas que he hecho. Cabe destacar que no lo he probado con las aplicaciones de trabajo, pero la exigencia de un video juego puede ser mayor y punto de referencia.
Antes, quiero comentar que la instalaci贸n es muy sencilla, algunas cosas no me han gustado pero las comentar茅 posiblemente en otra publicaci贸n. Pr谩cticamente a punta de clic y poco menos de una hora he logrado tener el sistema instalado, sin preocuparme por drivers, la detenci贸n es autom谩tica y realmente todo me ha funcionado sin intervenci贸n alguna. Un usuario con muy poca experiencia estoy seguro que har铆a una instalaci贸n sin problemas.
Al iniciar el sistema se siente lo fluida que va todo, sin bugs aparentes, colores agradables, el tema oscuro bastante bonito. En el arranque poco m谩s de 2Gb de consumo de Ram y el procesador ligerito, bastante bien.
La prueba la he hecho con Counter Strike 2, un t铆tulo que ten铆a muchas ganas de jugarlo y que a pesar de no ser tan exigente, est谩 muy a nivel de exigencia gr谩fica y de procesador de Revit. La verdad que la fluidez del juego bastante buena, no esperaba que pudiera tener ese nivel de experiencia en CS2. El navegador Edge con 5 o 6 pesta帽as abiertas junto con el juego, han saturado casi toda la Ram, por encima de 10Gb, a pesar de eso no se ha notado nada extra帽o.
No soy experto, ni uso herramientas para medir el rendimiento, lo que he dicho es todo bajo mi experiencia. Lo cierto es que Win11 consume recursos pero los administra muy bien, como muchos dicen, si tienes Ram es para usarla, al final tener 16 o 32 Gb y exprimirla es un desperdicio.
Sinceramente Win11 me est谩 haciendo replantearme algunas cosas en cuanto a mi flujo de trabajo, estar茅 pensando como organizar todas las herramientas, discos y sistemas y les estar茅 contando. Muchas gracias por leerme, un abrazo.

I have been working with Windows 10 for 7 years, applications like AutoCAD and Revit require it of me, although I am also an enthusiast of free software and open source GNU/Linux, it seems illogical but it is reality, application compatibility makes it impossible for many users to be able to adopt the wildebeest and penguin desktop. During my leisure time, content creation, learning and development, using Linux distributions, dual boot is part of my setup.
But let's stop with the nostalgia and get to the point of what we came for. This weekend I received a gift from the company I work with, they sent me the code for a Windows 11 license so I could try it on my machine, the user experience is important when some applications squeeze resources.
Despite not having a modern machine, consider that the resources are modest, 12Gb of Ram, 6th generation i7 processor and a 2Gb Radeon R7 graphics card, it is nothing to write home about, but for daily work it has worked for me. Now, what happens with Win11 and the supposed consumption of resources? Here are the tests I have done. It should be noted that I have not tested it with work applications, but the demands of a video game may be greater and a reference point.
Before, I want to comment that the installation is very simple, I did not like some things but I will possibly comment on them in another publication. Practically at the click of a button and in just under an hour I have managed to have the system installed, without worrying about the drivers, the stop is automatic and everything has really worked for me without any intervention. A user with very little experience, I am sure, would do an installation without problems.
When you start the system you feel how fluid everything runs, without apparent errors, pleasant colors, the dark theme is quite nice. At startup, just over 2Gb of Ram consumption and the light processor, quite good.
I have done the test with Counter Strike 2, a title that I really wanted to play and that despite not being so demanding, is very much at the level of Revit's graphical and processor demands. The truth is that the fluidity of the game is quite good, I didn't expect that I could have that level of experience in CS2. The Edge browser with 5 or 6 tabs open along with the game has saturated almost all of the Ram, above 10Gb, despite that nothing strange has been noticed.
I am not an expert, nor do I use tools to measure performance, what I have said is all from my experience. The truth is that Win11 consumes resources but manages them very well, as many say, if you have Ram it is to use it, in the end having 16 or 32 Gb and squeezing it out is a waste.
Honestly, Win11 is making me rethink some things regarding my workflow, I will be thinking about how to organize all the tools, disks and systems and I will tell you about it. Thank you very much for reading me, a hug.
