White Plume Moth (Pterophorus pentadactyla)

This is Pterophorus pentadactyla , commonly called the white plume moth, belonging to the family Pterophoridae. So small and slender, often seen clinging with outstretched wings like a cross behind the leaves of plants or weeds. The wings of the moth are downy, and the legs have branches like fine twigs. The moth is a type of insect that is active at dusk or at night (a nocturnal insect). These photos were taken in the valley around the Lhok Gajah reservoir in Suka Makmur, North Aceh.
