This is not the colossal pillars from the ruins of the agora, an open hall where the citizens of ancient Greece met; the place where the trial of Socrates was held in Athens; or the place where the female philosopher Hypatia was executed in Alexandria. It's just a bunch of mushrooms I found on the side of the narrow path leading to the valley. Macrocybe crassa is the scientific name for this mushroom species. This is an interesting mushroom; the fat stem, even larger than the cap, resembles the pillars of a giant building. Yes, those are like the giant pillars of the agora ruins. I love this mushroom so much!
