Monomad: "Green Colonel"

Despite the fact that he never held a weapon, wore armor, or graduated from a military academy, he was also never drafted into military conscription. But, all of a sudden, a senior military rank was attached to his name. I'm not sure how he obtained his rank, but that's how he's known. The Green Colonel (Oplodontha viridula) is a species of soldier fly belonging to the family Stratiomyidae.

For this round of the #monomad challenge, I'll submit the "green colonel" as my entry.
