When viewed from a rather distant viewpoint, it is like a cute animal who is helpless. But after being shot with a macro lens from a closer distance, even a moth looks fierce and elegant.
I shot these pictures of a brown Sumatran moth, when it was still morning. In the Acehnese language, we call it "a jangak." It has an antenna similar to a nail leaf, with long wings on its back. Perched on a grass stem, it looks like an eagle waiting for prey.
A friend once told me, shooting pictures of insects in the morning is a good timing. Because, he said, insects in the morning just woke up and did not move much.
