These pictures were taken in early August, which is still Indonesia's dry season. However, the weather can be erratic at times. At that moment, a miracle occurred, and the rain led me to find this mushroom two days later.
I recall finding the same kind of mushroom in the same forest a few months earlier, possibly in May. At the time, I seemed to jump to the conclusion that it was the Olive Edge Bonnet or Mycena viridimarginata species (Look at my previous post: Olive Edge Bonnet, and Yellow mushrooms). In any case, I am not an expert on mushrooms, so occasionally my identification may be incorrect.
I think this is either Pluteus yellow or Pluteus admirabilis species, according to two distinct articles (1, 2) that I just found through a Google search. I consider this to be more reliable.
It is pretty amazing to note that this mushroom's gills appear to have bioluminescence characteristics, given that the stem and fruit body are both yellow.
It appears that in the future if I want to do mushroom hunting, I'll need to pack a flashlight. Who knows? Maybe I'll find the same mushroom again. It will undoubtedly make the atmosphere livelier with the aid of a flashlight, much like the mushroom kingdom in the fairy tale.馃槏
