Guess what? You should guess right if you have been noticing my posts on steemmonsters.
You can buy a single pack and make back your money but then, would it hurt to purchase an $100 worth of monsters.
If you just want to try things out, buy a booster pack, register on the discord server and write promotional posts with regular upvotes.
If you love the game, you continue and buy more.. If you hate it, you have lost nothing. It's a win-win.
