Death is the cessation of all biological functions that keep a body alive and yes there are advantages of death but it depends on how you look at it.
Now if everybody on the planet lived forever then this world would have long since been over populated and living on earth would have been he'll!!
Secondly death itself is a very important part of life. When plants and animals die, their body serve as nourishment for something else to live, if death never occured then alot of things out there wouldn't have life. Think about it this way, if nothing dies then there's no way to add nutrients back to the earth and if nothing is added back to the earth then plants won't grow and if plants don't grow then there's now way for animals, herbivores and omnivores to eat, and finally if herbivores and omnivores don't eat, they'll die and then carnivores won't have anything to eat.
It's a long cycle that can only exist if death is included.
