On the long run, no, I don't think it is, at least when it comes to old fashioned exercise. The thing with liposuction is that its only a temporary solution to the problem which is people's personal lifestyles.
If you're the kind of person that eats too much junk and unhealthy fat filled foods then you're definitely going to become fat and if you simply get rid of the fat using liposuction then you haven't addressed the problem. If you continue with your present eating habits then you'll end up back where you started.
Taking into consideration the price of liposuction and the price of registering at a gym(3000$ -12000$ for liposuction and 10$ - 100$ a month for gyms) I think the answer is clear as to which one to choose. Working out/dieting and losing the fat naturally will make it easier to keep the fat off because your body will be used to eating healthy and will find it easier to maintain than when you use liposuction and your body is still used to its old habits.
I firmly believe that it's not worth it, at least unless you have day in areas that simply won't disappear if you workout alone (breast reduction). Otherwise the only pro it has is the speed with which you'll get to your ideal body seeing as working out will take months and liposuction will take minutes.
If you ask anyone who's ever battles with weight gain and loss, you'll find out that the hardest part is keeping the weight off and that's something that liposuction won't teach you how to do, at least not how working out and dieting will.
