Internet and social networking sites are targeted by hackers and there have been many cases of data leaks and theft in the past few years. In this episode, another data leak case has come up in which the information of Facebook and Twitter users has reached the wrong hands. Recently a new case of data leaks of social networking platforms Facebook and Twitter consumers has surfaced. Both of these social media sites believed that the data theft of hundreds of consumers' data was wrongly accessed in this data theft.
Social networking companies have said that some apps on the Google Play store were stolen from users' data. This has caused more damage to users who logged into these apps. Security researchers said that the 'One Audience and MobiBurn Software Development Kit' was giving access to data from Twitter and Facebook users. In this, the email address, username and recent tweet were being accessed. Twitter and Facebook have said that they will inform users whose data has been accessed.
Twitter issued a statement saying that we came to know about the virus-driven mobile software development kit being managed by One Audience. We are telling you about this, because we believe that if the Twitter handle harms the privacy of consumers, it is our responsibility to inform them.
Facebook, on the other hand, has removed both the apps for violating the policy of the platform after being aware of data theft. Facebook said that it will inform the users about whom they feel that their app has accessed these data incorrectly. Twitter has given this information to Google and Apple so that they can take necessary action against this software development kit.
