ArtByte (formerly AppleByte) was created to support artists around the world.
Our mission is to support artists in the building of their careers. There is never any cost to artists or art lovers for our services. The services are paid for by the ArtByte Foundation.
Artists can receive and spend (cash in) artbytes, just as you would cash-in airline mileage points or credit card bonus points. This provides real financial support for their careers. Additionally artists gain increased exposure (at no cost) on ArtByte’s social media and forum.
Fans who like their work can give them some. There is even an app for twitter that fans can tip artists directly to their Twitter account.
They can earn them by helping put more into circulation, by using the ArtByte Orchard site:
They can earn them by attaching their computer to the network as a node.
As ArtByte announced on June 10th, we are implementing some powerful new features on the ArtByte blockchain, including an upgrade to v0.13 and SegWit. These upgrades are significant enhancements to ArtByte and will provide our users with faster transactions and more security.
Our developers have been hard at work, and now ArtByte 0.13, including SegWit is successfully running on the test net and will be released soon on the live blockchain.
Upgrading ArtByte to 0.13 gives many advantages, including:
-Faster synchronization
-Dynamic transaction fees
-Priority transactions
-Hierarchical Deterministic Key Generation
-BIP65 Enforce OP
-BIP68 Enforce sequence locks for relative locktime
-BIP112 Enforce
-BIP113 Locktime enforcement soft fork
-BIP130 Direct headers announcement
-BIP152 Compact Block support
SegWit will add the following advantages to ArtByte:
-Elimination of unwanted transaction malleability
-Capacity increase
-Weighting data based on how it affects node performance
-Signature covers value
-Linear scaling of sighash operations
-Increased security for multisig
-More efficient almost-full-node security
-Script versioning
And more..
