I am really happy with today’s painting because I was completely immersed in looking at pictures of snow mountains. I also took a look at pictures from my visit to some of them in Nepal and India. I am 100 percent a winter person and am desperately waiting for it! Visiting cold places and choosing activities with snow is on top of my priorities while traveling. One of the most gorgeous views of my life is seeing first rays of sunlight on Mt. Machapuchare (fish tailed) some 7 years ago. I along with a few of my friends trekked a “never-ending” hill at 3 am with temperatures in negative just to catch that one view. I remember all of us having second thoughts about it midway especially because of no daylight but once we reached at the top and saw what we saw, we forgot everything.
I mean I cannot even begin to describe what my eyes were seeing. When the tip of that snow mountain was lit up with pink and orange light and it felt so dreamy and ethereal! It was as if it was glowing from the inside. I immediately forgot about the numbness, the icy winds, in fact the rest of the world and felt pure joy. Being there with my loved ones, snapping some pictures and living that moment is still one of my fondest memories. This painting took me back to that morning today and that’s why I am incredibly happy just to paint it ❤️ I will probably go and search for the picture and try to paint something from there. Cheers!
