“We’ve always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that.
Or perhaps we’ve just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we’ve barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.” - Interstellar
I love watching movies which show stuff about outer space like galaxies, possible life, time relativity, etc and needless to say Interstellar is one of THE most epic ones so far. I don't even need to say how amazing it is as anyone who would have watched would know. What really made me paint today was the Hans Zimmer music track and portrayal of black hole.
The subtle flow of light-like rays in the blackhole which seems so serene from the outside but equally unknown from the inside, the comparison of The Endurance with the planets, worm holes, etc are always a treat to the eyes when I watch this movie. I used one of my older diaries with a rough texture to paint this so it could more authenticity to moon's surface. It was so much fun to paint with my hands today! Surprisingly my fingers did a better job than my brushes to achieve the blend and "stamp" effect with gouache.
