(Patricia, vengadora - Capitulo 19 - Reseรฑa)

There is a very famous phrase that says: "It's easier to raise strong children than to fix broken adults". There is nothing more real than that saying, and this chapter is proof of it where an adult woman, despite seeking help for her childhood traumas, sees the wounds of the past reopen time and time again, leading her to a bottomless pit of despair and hatred towards the one who instilled in her the lowest murderous instinct and worst of all, those feelings of hatred and revenge are generated by the one who should protect you: a father.

Dysfunctional families are a common theme in this series, and in this case, for me, it is one of the saddest chapters as our protagonist grows with the seed of hatred towards her parent who did nothing but harm her throughout her life.

Childhood traumas resurface, resulting in a monumental tragedy.

The plot revolves around a father and his two children, mainly focusing on Patricia (Barbara Lombardo) and her father (Mario Pasik).

A family that is anything but normal because from the moment you see them, you know that something is not right as it is led by a submissive mother and a despotic and ruthless father.

Patricia grows up with traumas caused by her father, severely affecting her adult life to the point of seeking revenge on her own and settling scores one by one for all the things he did to her.

The chapter, as I said, is one of the strongest and let me tell you that the performance of Barbara and Mario Pasik is phenomenal. You really empathize with the character of Patricia and come to hate her father who plays a perfect role of a despotic, evil, psychopathic father at his peak, disgusting in short, every adjective that can be attributed to a person of his kind.

I love how the story unfolds through flashbacks of Patricia's childhood, which, although implied what her father did to her, with these flashes of memories you understand in a more raw way what happened. Doubts, really doubts at one point in the chapter if what you think happened or not because Mario's performance convinces you when he says he did nothing, after all, that is what a psychopath does with their victims, making them doubt.

The role of Marรญa Onetto is also something to highlight as the denying mother who does not see, or does not want to see the reality of things and acts as if nothing is happening. You hate her even more than the father himself. I really wanted to jump into the screen and shout at her, "REACT!" The worst part is that there are women like this in real life who succumb to fear or denial of reality. I don't blame them, the psychological prison generated by such a situation is worse than that of iron bars, but it does generate helplessness.

I love the contrast created by the settings. While both siblings grow up without material deficiencies, they grow up with emotional deficiencies, so the material things take a back seat. The final scenes are brutal when the bomb explodes. Everything reaches its limit triggering one tragedy after another that you do not expect. The final scene is incredible and already denotes how sick that family was. Mario Pasik's toast scene is masterful and shocking. A perfectly rounded and orchestrated chapter.

I have read somewhere that Marisa Grinstein was inspired by real cases (which she recreated as they were or with certain differences) and some episodes are pure fiction. In this case, it is fiction. There is no specific case, but I believe it is inspired by many similar real cases, thus encompassing all victims of family abuse.

A masterful job was done representing a dysfunctional family at this level and the problems that each one carries, avoiding falling into flat characters but rather, complex ones that contribute significant elements to the plot. I give it an 11 out of 10. Greetings!
