Not what I imagined but the logic is sound. Doesn't seem to have syntax errors, and if it did, they won't be hard to fix. The system isn't very scalable, though. This code won't be able to handle 1000 lines of story... Also, PICO-8 can't read Emojis, but it's not a big problem.
