What I have to say, Nice Review!

I love how you describe the how the motives of the crew made them natural to "see eye to eye."

The titles and the honor that comes with them, are truely important in One Piece world and I think it's interesting that you noticed that so early in the series.

As for the fights, and powers at that. None of them follow real life logic, the work has its own logic but I think it stays consistent to that logic for the most part.

In the manga there is a section called SBS where readers ask Eiichiro Oda. The author sometimes gives silly answers on how things worked. Some of these silly answers is how they actually worked in the series unique logic.

I won't spoil anything but One Piece has some of the best world building/lore I've seen in an anime, that starts a little earlier than Alabasta Arc, but goes full force at the Water Seven Arc and never backs down. I hope the silliness don't discourage you from the real appeal of the show.
