Translatory Motion

I am going to define the topic translatory motion.

MOTION:

A body is said to be in motion if it is changing its position with respect to surroundings.

e.g

A passenger in moving bus is in motion because it is changing its position with respect observer outside the bus.

There are three types of motion

1. Translatory Motion
2. Rotatory Motion
3. Vibratory Motion

Translatory Motion:

If a body moves along a line without any rotation is called translatory motion .The line may be straight and curved.

e.g

• A bicycle moving in a straight line is in translatory motion.
• The motion of insects.
• The motion of a spring.
