Some days ago i wrote an article on African Traditional Religion, but i thought it wise to write about the main Religious groups in Ghana, Already i have talked about African Traditional Religion, this post is mainly on religion it's definition, beliefs and faith of the types of religion, in my next article i will talk about Christianity and Islam in Ghana since i have already talked about African Traditional Religion. Religion is belief in a god or gods and the activities that are connected with this belief, such as praying or worshiping in a building such as a church or temple. Religion is a way of life of people that expresses their communication with a supreme being. Religion teaches values such as love, humility, honesty, generosity, truthfulness, kindness, hardworking, modesty, patience, peace, and cleanliness.
Religion is a key element in every culture and in every phase of history.
A religion is a set of beliefs that is held by a group of people.
There are many different religions, each with a different set of beliefs.
The beliefs are about the world and the people in it, about how they came into being and their importance to society.
These beliefs are linked to "supernatural" beings such as God/Allah, a number of gods or spirits. They may also be linked to an idea such as a path that the spirit of each person should take towards goodness, truth and duty.
Each religion has:
- different ideas about these things
- a "moral code" which is a set of beliefs about how humans should act.
- its own type of "devotions" when people worship or pray.
- religious "rituals"(special things that are always done in the same way) at certain times of the year or certain times in a person's life.
Other words that are used for "religion" are "faith" and "belief system".
People who do not believe in any religion are called atheists.
