Mangunan Pine Forest

Some time ago, my wife and I decided to escape from our routine for a bit. Not a big trip, just a simple intention: to enjoy a different morning. The choice fell on Mangunan Pine Forest, a place we'd heard about for a long time, but had yet to visit.

The journey there was quite pleasant. The winding road was typical of the hills, interspersed with small talk on the motorbike and the morning air that began to feel fresh. We left quite early, because they said that the atmosphere in Mangunan is most beautiful when the fog has not completely disappeared. And sure enough, when we arrived, the cool air immediately greeted us. That distinctive pine scent. for some reason, it made me feel calm. But the fog was not visible because my wife and I got there at 8.20 am.

What we didn't expect was the lesung performance in the traditional stage area. We were lucky to arrive at the right time. Several women, dressed in traditional clothing, beat the mortar with a unique rhythm. The sound echoed softly between the pine trunks. There was a kind of warmth born from the sound. My wife and I exchanged glances and smiles-simple things like this often feel more meaningful than modern entertainment.

After the show, we took a walk around the park. There were many beautiful spots, neatly arranged but still feeling natural. We sat in one area of the park while snacking on the small snacks we had brought. My wife leaned on my shoulder, and I felt time slowing down. Moments like that, no matter how simple, have their own space in my heart.

Of course, we didn't miss any photo spots. There are several places with a view of nature from a height-a kind of small cliff that leads directly to the green expanse in the distance. It's not about how good the photos are, but how each picture tells a story.

We didn't rush home. We still had time to buy hot tea at a stall near the parking lot. Sit down again for a while. I felt reluctant to go home, but life must go on. Clearly, that morning was not just about a beautiful place. It was also about us-remembering the reason why we walked together in the first place.

Sometimes, happiness is as simple as sitting together among the pine trees, without any fancy words.
