Hello @rakushasu, I'm commenting on my personal account because I'm not sure how to handle this for Ink Well. Personally, I loved the story. Personally (I hope you don't mind), I laughed out loud. I liked the voice of the narrator and you had me all the way through.

The problems with Ink Well are these: we don't publish cross posts. You didn't know that so innocent mistakes get one pass. Then, it is a bit gory ("When I checked the body, I saw that half his face was gone, gnawed away down to the bone"). I think that description is essential to the story, but I'm not sure everyone will agree with me.

Frankly, I think you've the makings of a good book here. As I explained, we don't do serials. I think if you start publishing this on your blog you are likely to get a following.

Finally, this story stands on its own just fine. There is a good narrative arc and a good character portrayal. Personally (again), I think the character is human, believable and entertaining.

I think, for all the reasons I mentioned, the story is not consistent with Ink Well culture. So, in the future you will be aware of these concerns.

We do love your writing, though, and hope to see more of it (with the issues explained above in mind).
