And how quickly it all changed after Steinem came on the scene!

Yes! I left that job in 1974, after the birth of my first child. By the time I left there already were token promotions of women. This offended me, because men who had been there for years were passed over for women who didn't know the job half as well. When it was suggested that I put in for promotion, I declined. I couldn't imagine supervising men who knew so much more than I did. It seems that people just couldn't be fair. They couldn't simply evaluate employees based on performance. Ended up being a crazy situation and led to a lot of resentment toward 'feminists'. That wasn't feminism. That was bureaucracy.

You wanted to be a modern dancer! My daughter was a professional dancer--hip hop, tap, breaking. Whatever. I admire dancers very, very much. People who can use their bodies to express themselves are very fortunate.

You and she are models for all of us to measure

Gloria, yes. Not me. I was just surviving (also, I was a little annoyed😄). Basically I hate attention. I dreaded the confrontations, but felt I had no choice. Every time another issue arose I had to take a deep breath and wait for the adrenaline to surge. Then I would find my courage.

I think you have a marvelous personal history. Math, dance, food. A true Renaissance woman :)
