My brother did. He went back a few times. Was hard for him to let go. My brother is ill now (82) but told me the other day our father was a 'bum'.

One of my brothers called him Satan. That brother is deceased now.

None of the girls saw him.

I have to add, till the day she died my mother never said a word against him. Not to us, anyway. She used to say she was grateful for her children. That's it.

I thought about my response to your question. I wrote a blog once about how my oldest brother saw my father quite a bit after we left. This was not a voluntary acquaintance. If you read that blog, know that my brother always had great anger toward my father. To my brother's last day, he cherished my mother and did not want to talk about my father--but if he did it was with contempt. Here is a link to that blog, if you are interested. @agmoore/passages .
