Such worries sometimes occur to the young, also. My daughter recently bought a camper. One of the reasons was she said she would always have a place to live if she fell on hard times. I think of buying a small piece of land in a remote area, cheaply, so that when I am gone (not that many years in the future, I'm sure) my family will have someplace to live if times get rough.

I am sorry about your back. The caravan doesn't look so bad to me, if it came to that. You know what they say: as long as you have love....
