I just read you previous post and now this one. Oh, I am so jealous. I've been fascinated by Iceland forever, but especially since I read novels by Halldór Laxness (won the Nobel Peace prize in literature). What a brutal place he describes--brutal and beautiful. Very, very human but unforgiving.
Also, my husband and I have watched a few TV shows from Iceland. Same feeling. A demanding place for humans, and yet they do quite well. Makes me wonder how those first Vikings decided this would be a good land on which to settle.
A fascinating bit of trivia I've read: There was once an issue with leprosy in Iceland. I always wondered how this disease made its way up to that icy island and then spread.
I did visit once. My airplane landed there and then took off. That's it. I saw the airport:))
You see...I am fascinated.
As for Greenland. Yes, it's been in the news (I love your nickname for Trump). Quite embarrassing for me as a citizen of the U.S. I have also been very interested in Greenland.
Great blogs. Great reading!
