From your pictures and description, Shenzhen seems to be visitor friendly--especially little visitors. When my granddaughter was very young, I think younger than your daughter, she went to Shenzhen with her parents. They were on a dance tour and so got to travel on someone else's wallet :) Of course the side excursions they took were not free, but they did have a per diem allowance. They came back with a sad story about the state of the zoo at that time. They had pictures and the animals did look pretty miserable. That was years ago (my granddaughter is 21 now).

Back in 2017 I published a book on Chinese literati art. I remember writing a blurb about Cai Yuanpei, who was the rector of Peking University in the late 20', early 30's. Then the university was in Beijing. This one, in Shenzhen seems to be the graduate school.

Because I wrote that book I have a great regard for Chinese culture, so your report is particularly interesting to me.
