I saw his face as I was scrolling and had to stop. You do him honor with your poem. The cadence of it reads like Borges--in Spanish, though not in English.

You are absolutely correct. A universally read and respected author. To my mind, he influenced world literature, but especially Latin American literature. I can hear his echo in so many works that came after.
