Hi,
I think I might not have been clear enough. I was responding to this statement:
If the S&P 500 goes down much more I think I’ll be buying into some index funds myself.
Of course I do not have investment acumen, but what I intended by my comment was that I expect the S&P 500 may go significantly lower if the effects of this war continue to expand. A Red Sea closure (Suez Canal) would be a blow to world markets. A blow to world markets may depress the S&P long term. Of course, what do I know? I don't invest because I think insiders get information before we do and we don't have a chance to compete fairly with the big actors. Plus, I don't really understand how the investment world works. You seem to know more, but not me.
As for politics: I don't know the political position of the Credit Union that holds my IRA. That's my only connection to a financial institution. But I am a very political animal.
Thanks for the feedback. I will continue to read your blogs--not for investment advice but so I can generally have a more well-rounded view of the world.
Be well.
