I am wary of movies where the setting is an obvious draw--unless it's Africa, the English countryside or the American West :)) Venice is just too obvious, unless one uses it as a backdrop for decadence (Thinking here of Thomas Mann's Death in Venice). I am impressed with the supporting cast--all solid actors. Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp less so.

It's a great review, and it tells me I don't want to watch this movie. Maybe if I'm trapped home in a storm and there is nothing else to watch :))
