I love this blog, because you make an observation about something I noticed a long time ago. Men need to socialize around something, side by side. My husband does it at his weekly card game. Even when he was in the hospital, the thing he missed was the card game. When he was recovering from leg surgery, his ultimate goal was to get back in the card game. It's really a gift.

BTW...I'm not like my 'sisters' in this way. I don't like to just sit down and chat. It gets on my nerves :) I talk while I'm walking with someone, or if I'm in a writing group, or playing cards. Otherwise, no. I used to fault myself for being like this, but that's just me.

I'm glad you have your barbershop. Sounds like a great place to hang out and get your hair cut.
