In a way your beautiful poem carries the keys to happiness. When do we have enough? Why do our appetites grow?
I think one of reasons this happens is because we are social animals. We start with the basics (I think back to my childhood when simply having heat was a great thing). Then we look around and we see more. We see ourselves not in terms of needs but in terms of what others see when they look at us.
A bigger house. A better house. A newer car. Why?
We don't need it but we imagine ourselves in the eyes of others and enough is no longer satisfying. We need more.
The key to happiness (and solvency 😇) is to know when enough is enough and to turn off the awareness of what others might see.
Really nice, succinct poem. It says what you want and then leaves it there. Enough said 🌈
