Wonderful that you are teaching him to swim at an early age. I never learned (today as an elderly woman I splash around but only go a few feet). Both my kids, though, are fish and so is my granddaughter.

As for your grandson's health issues. Not fair, is it? But another story: My oldest brother had rheumatic fever as a child. He nearly died, and was an invalid for years. In the end he defied all the odds. Had a wife, a business, children and grandchildren. Traveled the world. His heart never really healed, but that didn't stop him.

I'm rooting now for your grandson to have the same good fortune.
