We have a dog also, and he spends a lot of time in the backyard. Probably why the rabbits stay clear of that.

some chipmunks that have taken up residence under our shed I believe. They scurry around the edge of the fence driving the dogs nuts

We have large trees in the backyard and the squirrels run around up there. That does get the dog very excited. He lives for the squirrel sightings :)
