You can't get into your wallet!!!! Oh no! such a strange universe we occupy here on Hive. Lose that one word and you're done. Daunting. But you can still blog, and that's the important part.

I forced myself to read your piece because it is so thoughtful and because I respect you. However, my position on AI is fixed. No matter how persuasive your argument and thorough your investigation, I will have no part of AI. Although, of course, it permeates everything I do. It permeates our lives.

However omnipresent AI may be, I will not willingly bow to it. I will not converse with it. I will not allow it to do research for me, or draw a picture for me. I certainly will not allow it to write for me.

AI is exquisitely rational, and perhaps my feelings (feelings!!!) are irrational. That's OK. I retain the claim to human imperfection, to human will.

AI is a creature of the big businesses that have their boots on our necks right now. Oh, they investing in it, big time. It will insinuate itself so thoroughly in our lives that we will not be able to extricate ourselves at all. And if AI is there, so is the boot.

You see, I am so intransigent in on this issue that your very reasonable, very human argument cannot make a dent.

Kudos, though, for a great post.
