As always, when you write about money, there is clarity. Principles we live by day-to-day for a lifetime now have definition, a name.
It's funny, this FIRE thing. It seems to incorporate basic principles of responsible living I learned from my grandparents, and my mother. Don't buy to impress. Spend less than you earn. Always put money away, even a little bit. Once you put it away, don't touch your core savings.
My husband and I are very modest people. We covet little, so it doesn't cost us a lot to live. Yet, we have everything we need and want. We'd like to have more to help others (family). For that reason only I wish our money (investments) had made money.
No matter how I look at it, it's hard to use a vibrant acronym like FIRE to describe our quiet life, but we do have and have had for years, financial freedom.
Great blog. Informative and entertaining.
