It's not that she was such a bad candidate. It's that she wasn't chosen. We needed a candidate that had gone through the ringer of primaries. Her first time around she did dismally. She would not have survived a proper primary, and neither would Biden. The party did the same thing when Clinton ran. They pushed out other viable candidates. The powers that be in the party chose Clinton as the anointed one. In New York I had the luxury of voting for someone else without risking a loss to Trump. I was offended by the process and did not vote for her.
The party structure is totally corrupt. They think they can hand pick their candidate and voters will go along. As your numbers indicate, it's not enough to even get people out of the house. No enthusiasm.
I've looked at rank choice, but haven't studied it enough (the outcomes in other places) to see if it actually will work out for the better.
We need more parties. We need a more educated electorate. We have to bring civics and history back into the classroom (but not if people lie about history...there's that, isn't there).
I usually am not so loose and free with my opinions here, but I'm so upset at the moment.
At least you are thinking about the issue rationally. At least you care. That makes me feel better :)
Thank you for that.
