As always, an impressive exposition on an important 'bug'. I had the feeling I had seen this insect in New York. I looked it up, and sure enough, it has 'traveled' to my area. Here is a map that shows its distribution in the U. S. Apparently, it only appears in New York in September. Considering the number of human immigrants that come to New York, it is only reasonable that someone would have inadvertently carried the eggs of this insect to my region.
