A fascinating post. This creature's adaptation is amazing. I was wondering as I read if human engineers study insects like this to learn from nature's successful engineering.

I was laughing about the 'expendable' male. But then realized that the amazing adaptation of this insect would probably cease over time if it didn't have the additional genetic input from the male.
