Today I'm posting my first March 2024 collection of pictures for LIL, the LMAC gallery of images. These pictures are grouped into four themes. The first theme features a dog that was swimming in Oyster Bay, New York. The temperature of the water was about 48 (Fahrenheit), quite chilly by my standards. The dog didn't mind. It frolicked in the water. I couldn't resist taking pictures and the dog's owners kindly obliged.
The second set of pictures features a stretch of shore next to the beach. The picture just above this paragraph was taken from that vantage. As the sign indicates (posted in the section), Area Closed. No swimming. No lifeguards. No Animals. This stretch of shore, although not groomed, had a special beauty. It looked almost like wetlands. The one small, white bench seemed completely out of place. I can imagine a solitary person taking in the untouched beauty of the surroundings.
The third set of pictures are from Curacao, where my daughter recently vacationed. She snapped these shots for me to post on Hive, if I wanted. A couple of them were featured this week in an Amazing Nature blog I wrote.
Finally, the last two pictures are of the family dog. The dog is quite old and sleeps a lot. We try to cushion the floor for her with several layers of rug. She is a wonderful dog.
